As a preschool teacher I work closely with parents to ensure their children are growing and thriving.. We screen and assess children daily to gauge their developmental progress. We monitor them closely, for suspicion of developmental delay, speech or physical impairment and counsel parents on services available for their children and themselves. Parents have the right to get the best care available so their kids can grow and thrive. Being an advocate for your child and seeking out top notch care and services for them is of utmost importance. Having care and support you can rely on is a huge comfort to parents that are seeking services for a child.
If a child has special needs making sure they receive therapy at an early age is crucial to their development and learning. It may be helpful for parents as well as caregivers to keep records of milestones, medications, screenings, doctors, therapists and questions to have on hand when attending meetings or diagnostic appointments and procedures.
One place parents can check out is the Hospital for SpecialSurgery website. They are a world leader in orthopedics, rheumatology and rehabilitation. Located in New York City, HSS recently opened the CA Technologies Rehabilitation Center at the Children’s Pavilion. The center is providing comprehensive, individualized rehabilitation for both inpatients and outpatients children from birth to 21 years of age. Its multidisciplinary staff includes physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists that are renowned in their fields. Children are seen by appointment with physician referral. You can also visit their Facebook page for more information; Hospital for Special Surgery Facebook page.
We have included this short video of a virtual tour of CA Technologies Rehabilitation Center at the Children’s Pavilion at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. The facility design is made to support their patients and their families with the highest standards of services and equipment available. Please share our post with family and friends and help spread the word so all children can be the best they can be!
“I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Hospital for Special Surgery. A small donation to a charity of my choice was made in my name as a thank you for participating. You should consult with your physician or other health care provider before beginning any rehabilitation/therapy, sports training, or exercise program.”
