I guess Google has some kind of new rating/ranking system they rolled out a week or so ago. I noticed the button on the bottom of my blog posts, but didn’t know what it was. I saw someone else post about it, apparently you can add it as a widget in Word Press and self hosted blogs, but in blogger its embedded with the share buttons at the bottom of posts or you can add code to have it float or appear at top of post. Other sites I have seen compared the + One Button to the LIKE button on Facebook.
I don’t know if this will catch on or fizzle out, only time will tell. But for now, if you happen to read one of my posts and LIKE it, please feel free to push the + One Button (at the bottom of any post). THANKS!!

I read that it is for blogs and websites and will give us relevance. Page ranking is important to some companies for reviewers sites. This may be a way to improve value to search engines in turn giving us relevance to googles page ranking system.
They've made some company purchases recently that could change blogs appeal to companies. Some think google is a little miffed that they aren't getting the ad dollars and we are. I think google sees the value of blogs in the big picture but we can't compete with big sites like national brands.
I'm hoping it will be a win-win.
I think it will be a bigger asset than stumbling and facebook. Those would be more in direct competion with google, IMHO
