Today I shopped at a grocery store that is part of a small chain in our area. I don’t go there often, unless I have merchandising work in the area, it’s about 20 miles from my house. (Everything is about 20 miles from my house)
The store is called Boyer’s and its a Richfood Store. No club or bonus card needed, that’s always a plus. I went online to find their coupon policy and was actually quite pleased, with one exception. Their value limit on an internet printed coupon is $1.50…that’s not very high, anyway back to shopping.
The main items I wanted today were specific General Mills cereals on sale 5 for $10 and there was an in ad coupon for $4.50 off any milk when you purchased 4 boxes of the cereal. DEAL, I had a coupon for 50 cents off each box of cereal, that would double to $1, making my cereal $4 for 4 boxes and then FREE Milk!
Well, guess what? I am sure you did, the shelves were cleared. I went to the service desk, got a raincheck for the cereal, asked about the coupon for milk, and they said attach it to the raincheck and they would figure it out when I came back next week. AWESOME Customer Service!!
When I entered the store, a man summoned me to a spot where they were doing a drawing for $50 Store Gift Card (no obligation, yeah right). Well, there was no obligation, but it was a sales pitch for getting the newspaper home delivered. I never buy a paper, I just get coupons from several different people and take what I get and go from there. His deal was Sat and Sun home delivery for $6.50 a month for 3 month committment, plus if I signed up then, $20 gift card to the store. I did it! We will see how this goes, may be worth it for the coupons, we shall see.
Here are the groceries, I was able to pick up today.
3 Bags Fresh Expess Salad on sale buy one get 2 free – $2.97 – coupon for $1 off 1 (wish I had 2 more coupons, then they would have been free)
3 Boxes Pop Bowl Orville Popcorn on sale $2 a box – coupon $1 off 1 and $1 off 2
Jar Peter Pan Peanut Butter on sale $2 – coupon $1 off
3 bags store brand shredded cheese 8 oz each $5
Jar Store Brand Spaghetti Sauce 97 cents
4 bottles Ken’s Salad Dressing – 8 oz $6 – 2 coupons $1 off 2
1 Bottle Ken’s Salad Dressing – 16 oz $2 – coupon $1 off 1

1 Duncan Hines Brownie FREE with coupon
2 Cans Little Friskies Cat Food 5.5 oz size 59 cents each – coupon BOGO up to 55 cents (scanned & doubled up to $1, surprised me)
Total after Coupons $29.50 (darn I paid & forgot to give him the $20 gift card!) I have to go back that way next week, and they already have next weeks ad out I picked up today, so the gift card will get used!
On Facebook, I did a quick game on guessing how much I spent on this trip. $29.50 (saved 59 % with sales and coupons) was answer, but technically could have been $9.50 (could have saved 85 %) if I had used the gift card today. Going there now to close the comments & pick 2 winners who were the closest to those amounts..
Did you have any good shopping trips, this week? I would love to hear about your money saving shopping adventures.

Not bad!! Good job! I hate when I forget to use something. But like you said you can use it next week and it doesn't expire.
