When my first child was born, I was avid about writing down all of his milestones, taking pictures and saving memories that he would be able to have as a keepsake when he got older. Fast forward 3 years and we welcome our 2nd child into the world. I started out with good intentions, but now having 2 kids the saving of memories started to dwindle. Fast forward another 3 years and we now welcome our 3rd child and the saving of memories is pretty much non-existent. I had lots of good intentions and hundreds of dollars in scrapbook supplies to prove it! Many years have passed and now our 3rd “baby” is on his way to high school graduation and the last 17 years of his life seem to have flown by and I have some guilt pangs about not doing the best job saving memories for him.
All the great ways you can learn about and use SavingMemoriesForever.com
Since, we are a technology based society, I knew there had to be a better way to store and share the memories I have with my children. Enter in SavingMemoriesForever.com, a website and mobile app that has helped me, squash those guilt pangs and start honoring my memories once again. Add people you want to “interview” to your account, have them record answers to the questions you have through the app on your phone, label the stories with relevant tags and even add a picture of the interviewee.
I always have my iPhone with me wherever I go, so the Saving Memories Forever (check the app store it’s FREE) app is my new best friend. While I have down time at appointments and even on my walks at lunch I have been able to record stories, share them to my Facebook page, add tags and even add users that I want to interview. Another great feature is the ability to create virtual relatives. You can add family members who have passed away. After my brother passed away in 2008, I regretted not preserving more of his stories to recordings we share with his children. Saving Memories Forever would have been awesome to have then.
Along the virtual relative line, I also thought new parents could create their new baby and start documenting their life from planning through birth and beyond. What a perfect keepsake! Wouldn’t this be a great way for family members in the military or away on business to record stories that could be played back to their family members waiting at home? You can even record interviews over Skype or anywhere you have your phone. Upload the interviews to your account on the website, share with others or even download them to zip files. The possibilities are endless!

I cannot find anything that I do not like about Saving Memories Forever. Every aspect of the site and app has been user friendly. Plus, there are lots of tutorials, FAQ’s and video to help you learn to navigate with ease. The app and online account sync together quickly and make the uploading of stories a seamless process. I am so excited to keep interviewing everyone in our family.
I bet your mind is spinning and you are thinking of all the great ways you can use the Saving Memories Forever App and website to start collecting your stories and memories for future generations to cherish forever. Be sure to check out the SavingMemoriesForever.com website, look around and create your FREE account and start a new collection of cherished memories to keep forever.

This is such a neat idea! I really wish something like this was around back when my grandparents were alive. I have so many memories that I would have recorded. They had some great stories to tell!

I’m not an app person. I just think there are so many out there that I find the whole thing overwhelming. We just got our first iPad today and I think I downloaded 1 app… that I’m going to have to delete because it wasn’t the right one. 🙂

What a cool idea! I know that while I always enjoy reading written words and seeing pictures, there’s nothing like the memory of someone verbally telling you a story.

wow – this IS a greta idea. I’m going to be doing a ton of traveling in the upcoming weeks – this would be a great way to kill time at the airport but also accomplish something!
