In “The Color of Rain,” Michael and Gina Spehn share their remarkable story of faith, hope and love in the wake of tragedy. As the spouses of two childhood friends who both succumbed to cancer, Michael and Gina find comfort and healing in each other and re-build their families as one.
This book is a true story written by the 2 people who lived it. I must admit this was a struggle for me to read. It’s brutally honest and heart wrenching story, based on losing spouses to cancer and their repsective widows who are drawn together through the tragedies.
I lost my brother to cancer and he left behind a wife and 3 young children, so a lot of tears were shed on most pages of my book. It was through my faith that I was able to handle my brother’s death and reading how these 2 people struggled and grew together with God’s love and mercy was uplifting.
I definitely recommend this book as a something that will uplift your spirits as you follow the journey that brought these 2 people together. It’s amazing how God works in lives, theirs and mine too.. Just be sure to stock up on tissues!
