I have said it before, but just a reminder, I am not coordinated enough to cook and take pictures. I try to post simple recipes that don’t need lots of instruction, so hopefully no pictures necessary.

Crock Pot Lasagna ~ I used a 6 quart oval crock pot for this recipe.

~ Ingredients ~

12 oz box whole wheat lasagana noodles

1 lb hamburger browned and drained

2 Jars Ragu Sauce (26 oz each)

16 oz can diced tomatoes

16 oz Ricotta Cheese (you could use cottage cheese, too)

2 bags shredded mozzarella cheese (8 oz each)

2 tsp. garlic powder

20 oz frozen spinach – (optional)

Combine browned hamburger, diced tomatoes and sauce in pan until heated through.  Mix in small bowl, ricotta cheese and 1/2 a bag or mozzarella cheese( approx. 1 cup). Reserve the remainder of cheese in this bag for final layer in crockpot. Heat spinach in microwave until hot.

1. Layer of sauce mixture in bottom of crock pot.

2. Double layer of noodles, you will have to break in pieces for them to fit

3. Layer of cheese mixture and spinach if desired.

4. Sprinkle liberally with shredded mozzarella

Repeat layers until you run out of noodles.

My final layer is always sauce mixture and any remaining mozzarella cheese.

Cook on low for 4 – 5 hours.

  3. Julie Schexnayder says:

    Are the noodles pre-cooked?

  4. It doesnt say to cook the noodles so do you just put the hard noodles in the crock pot and they will soften up?

    • Yes, ma’am. That’s the easy part, ours were perfect after 4.5 hours on low.
