I was a SAHM for many years while my kids were younger. So, saving money was a way of life for me, not a choice. I have always enjoyed finding new ways to earn and save and still do.
I tried my hand at selling direct selling with Avon and Tupperware. Hosted numerous home party plans from Princess House, Home Interior, Pampered Chef, Tastefully Simple, Christmas Around the World, Undercover Wear, Beeline Fashions and I am sure there were others. Hosting a party enabled me to earn FREE products, thus saving myself money. Some of these party plans have stood the test of time, others have gone by the wayside.
Today, I want to share with some of the ways I am earning money at this stage in the game. This is going to become a weekly post and my contain affiliate links (that means if you click and sign up I may or may not get some kind of incentive).
Today’s topic is going to be Mystery Shopping. I started mystery shopping approximately 7 years ago. I did some online research and investigating to find reliable companies to work with. All of the agencies I work with, you had to fill out an application, submit a sample of writing style and job history. I like Mystery Shopping, because its flexible, I can pick and choose what shops I want to participate in and there are many opportunities in the areas I work, live and travel.
The company I have worked with from day one is Market Force. This company has been very easy to work with, I have never had a problem with payment or support from them. Market Force offers shops in US and Canada at a variety of locations. For most assignments you are required to have a computer with internet, a digital camera or cell phone with camera, scanning or faxing capability to submit paperwork. NO FEE to apply.
Their industry reputation is impeccable and some of the assignments for companies they may have to offer include:
•Retailers
•Fast food restaurant chains
•Casual dining restaurant chains
•Wireless/telecommunications companies
•Grocery stores
•Convenience stores/petroleum stations
•Banking and financial services clients
•In-theatre checks
•Retail Merchandising
•Promotional material installations
•Mystery Shopping in various industries
If you have any questions, I would be more than happy to answer them. If your, looking for a some flexible income, why not give mystery shopping a try. I really enjoy mystery shopping and not all the assignments are “covert” some of them are merchandising tasks, where you work directly with the store or company to complete assignments. You can email me at moneysavingmichele at gmail dot com if you would like further information.

I have thought about doing mystery shopping before, but was never sure how it really worked. Who wouldn't mind making some extra money on the side? =)
